Offering $100 hooks or $150 writing sessions etc. to anyone that is willing to pay, is doing you no favors. I get it you may need the money, but in the long run you are literally making your name mediocre.

When you work with just anyone that is willing to pay you, you end up having records with 50 random artists, where half of them might not even be taking their career seriously and majority of them don’t even have a real plan for the record.

Sure the math looks good in the short term, but in the long run it’ll come bite you when you get the attention you wanted and worked so hard for. This is when it starts going left, as soon as your name gets “poppin” in the eyes of others, those 50 random artists are going to be releasing the songs they never released with your feature and/or they’ll start re-promoting whatever your feature is on. These individuals aren’t going to care the song is over a year+ old. You’re lit to them now, you have traction, so they’ll take advantage and ride your wave as much as they can. Now you have records circulating that you’re most likely embarrassed about even doing; but, $100 right…

If you’re actually talented and take your career seriously, protect your talent and name for the long run. Choose who you work with wisely, not everyone willing to pay should be graced with your talent. People might not even want to work with you because your feature doesnt even hold any value anymore because X amount of artists already have your voice or pen game all over their records. The quick cash now, won’t be worth it in the future. Trust me, stop spreading yourself thin and stop posting to your stories about your $100 hook, 1 day only promo. Lets keep it real, a lot of you run it so often, like the end of every month… lol, and you say it’s the last time you’re ever doing it, but each month you’re back with the same promo; so, honestly, I wouldn’t even be in any rush to DM you. That scare tactic marketing only lasts so long.
