Today at Apple

UPDATE: For the time being, Apple is offering Today at Apple from the comfort of your own home at anytime you choose!

Today At Apple is one of those things many of us probably heard of during keynotes, but majority of us didn’t act on it. Mainly because there isn’t any advertisement for it, as of yet. I honestly, completely forgot about it until my laptop was dying and I walked into an Apple store to steal some electricity, while Darlynn decided to replace her lost AirPods for the 3rd time. During that time, I saw kids running around the store laughing and playing with employees on iPads. They were learning how to use iMovie, thats when an employee mentioned “Today At Apple” where they have sessions on all different topics for all different ages and showed me how to sign up.

About a week later, I took the plunge and singed myself up for not only one but two sessions back to back. I took part in the Photo Walk: Capturing Light and Shadow and the Photo Lab: Disrupting the Portrait Co-created with Christopher Anderson. This was a total step out of my comfort zone and the session leaders actually make you feel really comfortable. I thought I knew everything there was to know about my iPhone XS cameras, but I learned so much more and other helpful tricks. I’ve literally been scrolling through my Instagram now, criticizing pictures after everything I learned at the sessions, so I can improve my images in the future.

All in all, I highly recommend checking out the different sessions, to enhance your skills, there are a total of 58 I believe, from photography to Garage Band and coding etc. They are completely free and for all skill levels. You can choose any session and choose any store that fits your schedule. There is something literally, everyday. You dont even need the device that is required for the session, they provide you with the device if you dont have it. I’m thinking about getting an iPad Pro and the session leaders told me to take some iPad sessions first to help me decide if I really want/need the iPad.

You can view all of the available sessions at Apple.com/Today or in the Apple Store app, once its open click on the very bottom icon that says “sessions”.

Below are some pictures that were taken during my sessions.

Sidenote: Try to have a friend sign up with you, otherwise they’ll have you partner with another session attendee or in my case, we had a bunch of no shows so I was the only person in the sessions and I had an iPhone full of pictures of employees which is fine cause they were all cool, but I feel like I would of been more creative with my shots had my subject been someone I already knew.
