12 Days of Apps - Day 5: Pool

Move out of the way Dropbox, there’s a new app on the block, Pool. It is the simplest way to share photos and videos (memories) with all of your friends, family, clients, event attendees etc. The uses for this app are endless. I highly recommend Pool for photographers and individuals with very active group chats. We all know that the pictures always get lost in the chat.

Key Features:

  • Available for iPhone, iPad, Android, and web

  • No compression, all of your content is kept in its original quality

  • Watermarking ability great for photographers

  • Voting (so your friends can help you pick the selfie to post lol)

  • Slideshow option, you can play a Pool in a looping slideshow

  • Leave a note for people you invited to join

  • QR code generator (this is great for events, you can print it out and place it at the entrance, so everyone can scan it as they walk in)

  • Full control of who can upload to your Pool

**This is free to use as long as you don’t create more than 3 Pools and you don’t want any of the extra features like voting, watermarking. Otherwise it is $8.99USD/mo. and $11.99CAD/mo. This is definitely worth it, it’s hands down waaaay better than any of the competing apps.

This is what a native Pool looks like from the iPhone.

You can download multiple memories by long holding on one thumbnail then you can slide or tap on the ones you want to download. If you are the creator the “Delete” option would be available to you as well.
