Ambient Lighting For Every Mood

Lighting is an essential in our lives, but ambient lighting can really set the tone for specific environments. Especially those of studio spaces. You can walk into any studio and there will be at least purple and blue lights. I dont know why, but purple and blue seems to be the go to lol. However, you don’t have to limit yourself, the options are endless when you set yourself up with the right type of lights. Below are the lights I suggest and why.

My absolute favorite setup is the Philips Hue Color Bulbs. You have to initially buy the starter kit, then you can add as many bulbs or strip lights as you want. There are literally millions of options for each bulb. The best part, you can even upload pictures to the app and it will pull colors from the photo and make the room that color. So if you took a picture of a sunset you really liked, you can recreate that mood in your home or workspace. The Hue setup is pricey, but I do feel like its worth it. With the flexibility it allows, and you fully control each room from your phone with a full dimmable range of 0%-100%.

The first product is the starter kit and then you can purchase separate bulbs and strips. The strips can be cut at specific cutting points so you can customize the lengths. There are built in options for what you maybe trying to accomplish, such as reading, energizing, concentration, relax mode etc. You can even custom save combinations of light colors to quickly get that same mood again later. They have other types of bulbs and even stand alone lights, these are just the ones I have personally tried myself.

**Careful not to purchase the white lights only, thinking you’re getting a deal. Those will not change colors.

Next are some more budget friendly options that still do a great job. You just don’t get the same amount of freedom as you would with the Hue setup.

The fist two are strips and the third option is an LED laser light that projects different options in the entire room. I have not tried the 4th option, the bulbs, but I figured I’d share that they are an available option. These strips can be cut as well, you just need to get more connection points. There are only a limited amount of settings on all of these lights. If you don’t care too much about endless options for colors and controlling your lights from your phone, then these options are the better choice for you.

Below, is how I use these lights to created different vibes.
